Behind Matcha Made Learning
Curious by Nature, Purpose-Driven by Choice
I’m Hannah — a creative learning designer who turns dry, overwhelming content into interactive experiences that actually teach people something new. I help organizations transform information into practical, engaging learning that people remember and use on the job.
I’ve always followed curiosity, but I’m most energized when learning has purpose behind it. That’s why instructional design fits me so well — it blends creativity, psychology, and real-world impact in a way that helps people grow.
Learning That Feels Like Discovery
I design learning that feels less like “training” and more like guided exploration. People don’t learn by clicking through slides — they learn by trying, noticing, choosing, and discovering.
My work focuses on creating small interactive moments that make content click: scenarios, choices, simulations, and hands-on practice. When learners engage with material instead of just reading it, the skills finally stick.
My Process: Clear, Simple, and Action-Focused
Every project starts with one question:
What do learners need to be able to do?
From there, I reverse-engineer the experience — mapping actions, designing practice loops, and only then polishing the visuals and interactivity. This keeps training focused, fast to produce, and tightly aligned with real-world outcomes.
Clients describe me as a strong communicator who brings clarity, structure, and creativity to complex content. I like simple plans, clean spaces, and focused sprints that make projects move.
From Business Owner to Learning Designer
Before learning design, I spent years running a bookkeeping business and currently own a construction company with my husband. Training employees in those roles taught me something important:
People learn best when they’re allowed to try, make mistakes, and problem-solve — not just follow instructions.
That experience shaped the way I design today. My goal is always the same:
create learning that translates directly into confident action.
I’m especially passionate about workforce programs, vocational schools, and small businesses — places where practical learning can unlock opportunities and independence. I hope to one day expand my work to help autistic teens and adults learn life and business skills that lead to independence. My business background gives me an inside perspective that helps me design for real-world impact, not just theory.
Beyond the Screen
Outside of designing, I’m a mom to three kids, a slow-morning enthusiast, and someone who will always justify a stop for an iced oat-milk matcha and a new book. I love experimenting with new tools, exploring AI for better learning, and falling down research rabbit holes just to see where they lead.
