Interactive Workshop Board (Miro Learning Experience)
A Miro-based environment built for live or remote workshops β blending reflection prompts, drag-and-drop activities, and interactive elements. The board was designed to make group strategy sessions more hands-on, structured, and engaging without losing the flexibility of open collaboration.
β°οΈ Challenge
Traditional virtual workshops tend to rely on slides and discussion prompts, which can leave participants disengaged and unclear on next steps. The challenge was to turn a typical brainstorming session into a guided, interactive experience where participants could visually see progress, make real decisions together, and apply learning through play.
The idea: keep the collaborative energy of a live session while introducing enough structure to drive real outcomes.
π Design Approach
I used a journey-based metaphor β a trail map that guides teams through βislandsβ of learning and decision-making. Each island represents a key milestone in the strategy process (like prioritizing projects, evaluating trade-offs, or aligning goals).
The design followed the principle of guided discovery β participants learn by interacting, discussing, and making choices directly on the board.
I created facilitator notes and optional prompts for each stage so the experience could scale for both instructor-led and self-paced teams.
The visual metaphor was chosen intentionally: it creates a sense of exploration and progress while keeping the board playful and easy to navigate and matches the theme of the company.
ποΈ The Build
The board was built entirely in Miro, using a mix of:
Interactive zones for drag-and-drop prioritization, sticky voting, and decision wheels.
Embedded reflection prompts that encourage discussion before moving to the next island.
Facilitator script that moderators can use to guide the session.
I created a cohesive design system using Canva for illustrations, consistent icons, and an earthy color palette to make the workshop feel grounded and immersive.
π Results & Takeaways
The workshop format turned passive meetings into an active strategy sprint β participants can colloborate, debate, and reach decisions visually rather than verbally. Facilitators will have higher engagement and smoother session flow, with less time lost to confusion or hesitation.
